Our Services

Sober Companion Support
Sober companion services are often used during major transitions—such as stepping down from inpatient or residential treatment, extended care, or sober living—but they are just as effective for individuals who are choosing to pursue recovery outside of traditional treatment settings. For many, long-term, one-on-one support is what makes sustained recovery possible.
Our sober companions are highly trained and experienced in providing discreet, individualized care, including for high-profile and high-income clients. Privacy, flexibility, and professionalism are essential—but access to meaningful recovery should never depend on status or success.
There’s a common misconception that recovery is easier for people with wealth or public visibility. In reality, it’s often more challenging. Executives, creatives, and public figures frequently face unique barriers to consistency, accountability, and connection after treatment. Without structured support, many struggle to fully engage in the daily practices that recovery requires, increasing the risk of relapse during early transitions.
Sober companioning bridges that gap. We bring recovery into real life—supporting follow-through on treatment recommendations, helping clients stay connected, and reinforcing the fundamentals that build lasting change. Whether short-term or long-term, our goal is the same: to provide steady, personalized support where it matters most—outside the walls of treatment.
Sober Companion Services at Rise Again Recovery Homes
Rise Again Recovery Homes offers sober companion services designed to support individuals as they navigate early recovery, major transitions, and life outside of structured treatment. Sober companions often work with clients stepping down from inpatient treatment, extended care, or sober living, but they are also valuable for individuals who need added accountability, structure, and support in real-world settings.
Recovery does not happen in isolation. Consistent, healthy connection plays a critical role in maintaining sobriety—especially during vulnerable periods after treatment. A sober companion becomes part of a client’s recovery support system, offering presence, guidance, and accountability when it matters most.
What Is a Sober Companion?
A sober companion provides one-on-one, recovery-focused support to help clients build and maintain independent sobriety. Services are available across all levels of care and can be short-term or extended, depending on individual needs. Sober companions help bridge the gap between treatment and everyday life by offering structure, encouragement, and hands-on support outside of clinical settings.
How Sober Companions Support Recovery
Sober companions at Rise Again Recovery Homes may assist clients by:
-
Providing emotional support and practical guidance
-
Offering consistent accountability and relapse prevention support
-
Spending significant time with clients to reduce isolation, boredom, and high-risk situations
-
Supporting attendance at appointments, meetings, and recovery-related activities
-
Helping clients apply coping skills and recovery tools in daily life
-
Connecting clients with community resources and recovery supports
-
Offering a non-judgmental, peer-based perspective rooted in lived experience
Sober companions are not there to “do recovery” for someone—but to walk alongside them while they do the work themselves.
Role & Boundaries of a Sober Companion
Sober companions serve as allies in recovery, providing daily structure and support while maintaining healthy professional boundaries. They may travel with clients, assist with scheduling, accompany them to appointments, and provide crisis support when appropriate. At the same time, clients are encouraged to build independence and take ownership of their recovery journey.
This balance allows sober companioning to be both supportive and empowering, rather than enabling.
Qualified & Peer-Based Support
Rise Again Recovery Homes works with sober companions who are carefully screened, trained, and aligned with our recovery values. Many of our companions are Certified Peer Support Specialists, bringing both professional training and lived experience to their work. This combination allows for authentic connection, practical insight, and compassionate accountability.
Our companions are skilled in communication, relapse prevention, crisis awareness, and recovery planning, ensuring consistent and effective support.
Individualized, Real-World Recovery Support
No two recovery journeys look the same. Sober companions collaborate with clients—and when appropriate, families and providers—to help create personalized recovery plans that fit real life. This may include:
-
Establishing healthy routines
-
Scheduling sober activities and self-care
-
Attending recovery meetings or support groups
-
Practicing coping strategies and relapse prevention tools
-
Navigating work, travel, and social environments sober
Support is flexible and responsive, adapting as a client gains confidence and stability.
Building Trust & Long-Term Stability
Trust is the foundation of effective sober companioning. Our companions create a supportive, judgment-free environment where clients feel safe being honest about challenges, urges, and setbacks. Through consistency, empathy, and shared accountability, sober companions help clients build confidence in their ability to stay sober and move forward.
At Rise Again Recovery Homes, sober companioning is about more than staying abstinent—it’s about learning how to live, connect, and thrive in recovery.

Sober Companions
Sober Companions commonly support individuals transitioning out of residential or inpatient treatment, extended care, or sober living programs. We also work with those who are motivated to pursue recovery outside of traditional treatment settings, including longer-term, individualized support.

Sober Coach
Sober coaching focuses on guidance, accountability, and skill-building to support long-term recovery and personal growth. Unlike sober companioning, which is often more hands-on and intensive during early recovery or major transitions, sober coaching is typically less immersive and designed to help individuals strengthen independence, routine, and decision-making over time. Our sober coaching services are provided by Certified Peer Support Specialists, individuals with lived experience and formal training who understand recovery from the inside out. This allows us to offer practical support, real-world insight, and encouragement grounded in both professional standards and personal experience.

Sober coaching is not therapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. It works best as a supportive layer alongside clinical care, therapy, and recovery communities.
